                                                 1 Granite St. Montpelier (next to the Iron Bridge) 

                                                    The cost for this 10 week series is $250.00

Simply put, Authentic Movement strives for the physical expression of truth in each passing moment, whatever that truth may be. With eyes closed, we find, explore and follow the eternally present impulse, expressing it through movement. By allowing our impulses to lead us, our movement begins to bridge the unconscious to the conscious. Authentic Movement embraces all levels of being from the sacred to the seeming profane, the important to the trivial, the humorous to the tragic, the joyous to the grieving. In practicing the form participants find, in addition to inner discovery, the possibility for a deep inner freedom that comes with true self-acceptance.

The composition of this class is an intimate and focused group of people. As always, we will fine tune the basic elements of Authentic Movement: the mover and the witness, the subtle nuances of the form as well as the theme which will explore the inner states of stillness and dynamic change. When we are still within our own being, in inner states of familairity, sometimes these states are deeply restorative and other times, not—just familiar, known. What prompts change, what prompts movement and what is it to be in the state of the unknown. What comes alive within us when we don’t know.  What happens when we trust our capacity to keep listening deeply into our own Center and move from that place? Time is a critical part of the boundary of the form, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow for parking, taking care of the business aspects of the class and are ready to begin at 9:00. Wear comfortable clothing, with no sharp edges (to protect the mat).

Take time to consider and feel into the presence of your inner witness. For some people, it is helpful or illuminating to choose or create an object that personifies your experience of your inner witness. If you would find this to be helpful, please feel free to bring it with you. It could be something from nature, from home, something you find or create—anything that speaks to you of your present inner witness.

*Currently the virus is low in Vermont and at this rate, I am comfortable with people making their own choices whether they want to wear a mask or not. If the virus presence changes to a great degree, the gudieline may change to something more. At this point, essentially, if you are not well, stay home.
